Spanish Influenza Outbreak

An outbreak of Spanish influenza closed churches, schools and other public institutions. The outbreak hit the Fort in November of 1918, killing dozens. The disease came on quickly, leaving those afflicted with internal pain, coughing fits, and blueness of skin.
