INFO Student Web Server Guidelines

The information found here is being provided so that students and faculty involved in the Web curriculum are aware of the process being used to maintain the student web sites.

All Web students will have a Web site on the student.mccinfo.net server. INFO2340 will have their primary site on the INFO2340.mccinfo.net server and will use the student.mccinfo.net sites for special purposes. All student Web sites are accessible on and off campus using FTP.

Beginning March, 2006, students at the College can log into campus computers, student Web sites, SharePoint Services, student e-mail, WebAdvisor, and WebCT (for students enrolled in an online or blended course) using one username and password. The Password Center ( http://www.mccneb.edu/password ) is a new web resource available to all students and staff. This web site allows you to change (reset) your password even if you don't know your username and password, provided the personal information you enter to verify your identity, matches the information the College has in it's database.

All student Web sites will be deleted at the end of the quarter.  If you take another Web class the next quarter, a new Web site will be created at the beginning of the quarter for you to use during that quarter.  You will be responsible for keeping a backup of your Web site during the quarter and at the end.  We recommend that you USB storage drive to maintain an up-to-date copy of your Web content.

The student is responsible for the content on their Student Web site and should  maintain the high professional standards expected when using these resources. Use of these resources is a privilege and carries with it a responsibility to respect the rights and privacy of others, the integrity of facilities, and to follow Student Conduct Guidelines and College Policies.
